SI-EM (MD800) ModbusTCP card IP addressing scheme

Summary of contents

This card uses a multiple IP addressing scheme. Given a calculated base IP, the IPs of all devices are assigned automatically and consecutively, starting with the rectifier and ending with the last inverter installed.

1.   Proposed solution.

This card uses a multiple IP addressing scheme. Given a calculated base IP, the IPs of all devices are assigned automatically and consecutively, starting with the rectifier and ending with the last inverter installed.

The parameters used to configure the IP address of the MD800 are:

Function code

Name

Range

Description

AD-01

The highest byte of the IP address

1-254

Sets the highest byte of the IP address,

ranging from 1 to 254 (0x01 to 0xFE)

(displayed in decimal)

AD-02

The second highest byte of the IP address

1-254

Set the second highest byte of the IP

address in the range 0 to 254 (0x00 to

0xFE) (displayed in decimal)

AD-03

The third byte of the IP address

1-254

Set the third byte of the IP address in the

range 0 to 254 (0x00 to 0xFE) (displayed in

decimal)

AD-04

Basis for calculating the lowest byte of the IP address

1-16

This parameter IS NOT the least significant byte of the address.

It is a number used to perform a calculation that allows all IPs to be assigned.

This value cannot be greater than 16. If a higher value is entered, there will be an overflow in the IP calculation.

The attached Knowledge Base document explains how this card works and how IP addresses of the entire MD800 (rectifier ans inverters) are configured
